partially researched lines. A Chastain (French Huguenot) distant cousin was a
neighbor of Gary and Anne Donald Muffley for several years. Donald ancestor
Jarvis Greene was killed in the Battle of Blue Licks, Kentucky, August 19,
1782. A mixed force of British and their Indian allies had raided into
Kentucky, and then withdrew toward Ohio. A pursuing force of Kentuckians was
ambushed at Blue Licks. Jarvis Greene was killed, as was a son of Daniel Boone.
Daniel was wounded at that battle.
